Presentations

The Awareness Team Guaranteed Stamp "Security clearance and/or presentation outline available upon request."

A decade of experience has led to today's ninety-minute format. An A-Team presentation consists of two persons with different types of disability.

The presentation entails interactive lecture from both speakers, true-life experiences, hands-on activities and an opportunity for questions. Evaluations are often handed out, and some review questions are published on-line on our web-page.

  • misconceptions and negative attitudes towards people with disabilities.
  • reinforcement of positive attitudes towards people with disabilities.
  • motivation through example, knowledge, understanding and common sense.
  • show how anything is possible by knowing a positive lifestyle.
  • introduce empathy.
  • teach the ways to get a disability.
  • share the best way to avoid a disability.
  • how to act when meeting someone with a disability.

  • As the Librarian I was a "captive" audience and thoroughly enjoyed the presentations that Kelly and Keith presented to our entire school. Through truth and humor they were able to help the students understand that although a person might have a disability it doesn't make them any less valuable to society. I was absolutely amazed at how they were able to keep our Kindergarten to Grade 3 students listening attentively to their presentation. No small feat I assure you. The only drawback to their presentation? It could have been longer. When something is that good you just don't want it to end. A huge thank you to Kelly and Keith!
